Stepping Forward

We are thrilled to share with you a new document for students with disabilities! Stepping Forward: A Self-Advocacy Guide for Middle and High School Students (formerly known as "An Educational Journey from Self Discovery to Advocacy") is intended to help middle and high school students develop self-advocacy skills and plan for the transition from school to adult life. Some of the skills and activities mentioned in the guide may also be appropriate for students and teachers at the elementary school level. It is never too early to begin thinking about and teaching skills that will help students to be better prepared for secondary transition!

Once you download the guide, save it as a PDF on your computer. (See the directions below for instructions on how to download the guide from Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome.) You will then be able to type in the blue fields in the document and save or print the document. We would be happy to answer any questions you may have about how to use this document, so please feel free to contact us!
