Schwallie Family Scholarship
The Organization for Autism Research
The Organization for Autism Research (OAR) is delighted to announce the Schwallie Family Scholarship, to support qualified individuals with autism or Asperger Syndrome pursuing post-secondary education.  Beginning with the spring semester 2008, OAR will present one award of $3,000 in each of three categories: 1) Four-year undergraduate college or university; 2) Two-year undergraduate college, and; 3) Trade, technical or vocational school.

National Scholarship Competition For College Students With Disabilities
Disabled person Inc. announces its fall 2007 nationally based college scholarship competition for disabled college students. The competition begins September 1, 2007 and goes through October 19, 2007.

The Anne Ford Scholarship for Student with LD
The Anne Ford Scholarship is a $10,000 award given to a high school senior with an identified learning disability (LD) who is pursuing an undergraduate degree. The ideal candidate is a high school senior who has faced the challenges of having a learning disability; is committed to completing a college degree and setting career goals; has demonstrated perseverance; embraces new opportunities; has a well-rounded perspective shaped by experiences in school, in the community, and with family and friends; understands how LD affects his/her life and recognizes the importance of self-advocacy; believes in contributing to society in a way that increases the opportunities for individuals with learning disabilities; and will feel comfortable serving as a role model for others who struggle with LD. The deadline for application is December 31, 2007.

1800Wheelchair.com ANNOUNCES 2ND ANNUAL SCHOLARSHIP AWARD
1800Wheelchair.com is proud to announce our second annual scholarship award. Established in 2006, the scholarship fund will award one $500 scholarship to an undergraduate student on January 30, 2008. The scholarship is open to students of any major or concentration. The winner's name, essay and photo will be posted on 1800wheelchair.com. Although not a requirement, preference will be given to students with mobility disabilities.

The Linda J. Marchetti Scholarship
Presented by the Connecticut Down Syndrome Congress (CDSC)
The Linda J. Marchetti Scholarship is awarded to a person with Down Syndrome who may not otherwise have the financial means to futher his or her education. This scholarship provides $1,000 for post-secondary studies.

Applications for this scholarship should be sent to:

The application should include the scholarship name, the applicant's name, address and phone number, the name of the academic institution they are attending, a description of the program, a copy of the transcript or list of courses, the amount of scholarship they are requesting and a resume. Please include a cover letter indicating why the applicant should receive the award. For additional information please visit the Connecticut Down Syndrome Congress website at: www.ctdownsyndrome.org. Scholarships will be presented at CDSC's Annual Convention in the Fall.
 

The Bobby Fund Scholarship
Presented by the Connecticut Down Syndrome Congress (CDSC)
The Connecticut Down Syndrome Congress offers educational scholarships to students with Down Syndrome who are pursuing post-secondary education opportunities. The Board of Directors of CDSC has allocated $2,000 annually for this scholarship. The entire amount can go to one individual or, if several worthy candidates are identified, it can be split amongst such individuals. In order to apply, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • They must be a Connecticut resident, but they can be attending a school outside of Connecticut.

  • The school must be an accredited academic institution

  • They can be either full or part-time students

  • They must be a member of CDSC

  • CDSC will require proof of enrollment at the school
