Children in Placement - Connecticut, Inc. originated in the Hartford Superior Court for Juvenile Matters in 1979. The program's goal is to recruit and train volunteers to facilitate the process of securing safe and permanent homes for all children involved in abuse and neglect proceedings. Community Health Resources (Region 3 & 5)
CHR's administrative offices and crisis services are conveniently located in Windsor. CHR provides professional mental health services in the communities East and North of Hartford, Windsor, Manchester and Enfield as well as through their specialty service locations in Vernon and Willimantic. Community Resources offers a wide array of child and family services to assist you and your children in your quest to lead happier and healthier lives. Services include, counseling and psychiatric services, intensive in-home therapy, early childhood consultation services and mobile crisis intervention. Connecticut Parent Information and Resource Center (Statewide)
The Connecticut Parent Information and Resource Center (CT PIRC) services include: family support and resources, training opportunities, and outreach to all families with some programs targeted to those families from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds. Their toll-free line (800-842-8678) provides assistance to families on educational issues related to the No Child Left Behind Act and accountability.
