Connecticut Youth Leadership Project
CT YLP is a youth leadership program that empowers youth with disabilities to realize their leadership potential. Through self-awareness and team building activities, delegates explore leadership styles and develop and implement team and personal leadership plans.
Their goal is to
help young adults with disabilities meet the challenges of the future ...
overcome obstacles ... become leaders ... so that they can make a difference
in their communities and for others with disabilities.
Each year, for one week, up to 40 of the state's high school students with
various disabilities gather on the campus of the University of Connecticut
for intensive leadership training. This forum gives students the chance to
build the leadership skills they will need to succeed and excel as young
adults.
CT YLP's April 2008 newsletter, Youth Leadership Today, is now available and is filled with helpful information and resources.
